Former PSU recruit arrested in State College

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- One-time Penn State football recruit Zayd Issah was arrested early Saturday in State College and charged with felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor counts of resisting arrest and marijuana possession, according to court documents.

He did not post $20,000 bail and was arraigned on Saturday morning. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday.

Issah, a linebacker from Harrisburg, was charged with counterfeiting in March, and Bill O'Brien pulled his scholarship offer. On national signing day in February, O'Brien had spoken highly of Issah, saying he would have the opportunity to compete for playing time as a true freshman.

Issah had recently been placed on a probationary program that would likely have allowed him to avoid a criminal record, according to PennLive.com.
